Travelling to Exeter Street Hall:
By Train:
Exeter Street is 15 minute walk or a 6 minute taxi ride from Brighton railway station which connects to Gatwick airport in 30 minutes and to London Victoria and London Bridge stations in 60 minutes.
There is a taxi rank at the station.
By Bus:
The 27 and 14 buses stop opposite Port Hall Road on Dyke Road which is less than 5 minutes walk to the hall. There are a number of other local buses which stop within 10-15 minutes walk of the hall in the Seven Dials area. Check traveline for individual routes.
By Car:
The hall has no car park. It is in parking zone Q, which has a mixture of pay and display bays and permit only bays.
We have visitor permits for the area available at £3.50 per day by emailing Sarah. They can be picked up from the registration desk on the morning of the singing, or on Friday night. Regular pay and display in the area is available but has maximum stay restrictions so is only suitable if you're not planning to stay all day. See signs on the individual streets for info.
There is a disabled parking bay for blue badge holders outside the hall.
There will be a special Singing School with members of the Shenandoah Harmony publishing committee visiting from the USA on Friday 18th January 19.45-21.45 at West Hill Community Hall, BN1 3PS. The hall is tucked away at the top of Compton Avenue, (Buckingham Place end) down a small driveway, less than 10 minutes walk from Brighton train station. We suggest using public transport if possible as the hall has no car park. There may be some street parking in the surrounding area (free after 8pm) but we can't guarantee you'll get a space. Please do not park in the driveway going down to the hall, this is a condition of our hire.
After the singing on Saturday we will head to The Chimney House pub down the road, then in the evening there will be a social from 19.00 at the Lord Nelson Inn, 36 Trafalgar Street, North Laine, Brighton BN1 4ED.
Accommodation with local singers: Due to high demand for accommodation, which is great news for the singing, for the moment we are not accepting further requests until we confirm our local capacity. If you have any queries our Accommodation Officer Ross can be contacted by email.
Alternatively there are a range of accommodation options across Brighton and Hove including hostels, B&Bs and hotels.
